The Weave

A truly complex design requiring the glue up of 154 individual pieces to make an intricate weave design end grain cutting board. This board takes a dedicated crafts person over two full days to complete with multiple complex glue ups to achieve the desired pattern.

Each of the woods used in this board has its own character and charm.

Walnut is the classic wood for any quality woodworking project. Rich in depth and colour this wood simply exudes quality and is used in almost every one of our wooden pieces.

Maple is a hard wearing, tough wood with a colour range from nearly white, to an off-white cream colour, and sometimes can be found with a reddish or golden hue when finished with oil. A tremendous wood for offsetting the deeper colours in the other hardwoods we use in the workshop.

Purple Heart is a gloriously rich, vibrant wood with a unique violet colour and amazing grain pattern, Purple Heart is a very hard wearing, tough wood and compliments the other woods we use in our boards tremendously well.
Please bear in mind, each board is individually made by a single craftsperson, so as such, no two boards are ever the same.

Due to the very nature of these products being made of wood, a natural product in it’s own right, there may be subtle variations in colour, texture, pattern and grain between the piece pictured and the piece you receive. These boards take over two hours for one man to produce (including an over-night glue up) so constitute a considerable investment in time by one of our craftspeople. We stand by all our boards and as such we offer a free, lifetime resurfacing service (P&P at your cost) should the board every require it. Every purchase includes a free tin of Board Conditioner from our friends over at “A Bit of a Buzz”: Download Product Care Sheet
